History

InnoPharma, Inc. Founded in 2005, is a privately held pharmaceutical development company, based in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Business Model

InnoPharma, Inc. develops niche generic and specialty pharmaceutical/bio-pharmaceutical products in sterile dosage forms, and out-licenses to pharmaceutical marketing companies for commercialization.

The “Niche Generics” program is targeted on developing those generic drug products that are:

• Difficult to develop for technical reasons, especially injectable and ophthalmic dosage forms

• No or very limited API source

• Niche area of use

• Complicated manufacturing

• Complicated bio-equivalency or clinical studies

• Potential to provide value to patients and prescribers, in terms of cost effectiveness

“Specialty Pharmaceuticals” includes novel and innovative new products of existing drugs (primarily oncology) that are developed by utilizing InnoPharma’s proprietary colloidal drug delivery technology platforms. This strategic pathway addresses certain unmet clinical and/or market needs of existing drugs with unfavorable adverse effects profile, or with challenging formulation/processing issues. Value-add to patients and prescribers include access to cost effective, safer, and in some cases more efficacious new products of existing drugs.

The molecules in InnoPharma’s development pipeline (more than 35) range from small molecules, carbohydrates, phospholipids and polypeptides. This pipeline is supported by intensive and extensive R&D infrastructure of InnoPharma, including well equipped laboratories, team of about 25 scientists, and a respected and highly networked team of consultants and advisors.

Execution

R&D infrastructure:

InnoPharma develops sterile injectable and ophthalmic pharmaceutical products in its state of the art R&D laboratories, located in Piscataway, New Jersey.

• Laboratories include compounding (including containment facilities), filling, sterilization, and cGMP compliant analytical and stability R&D

• The formulations under development include solutions, suspensions, lyophilized, liposomes as well as emulsion products.

• Presentations include ampoules, vials, pre-filled syringes and bags.

• Molecules under development include small molecules, phospholipids, carbohydrates, nucleoside analogs and polypeptides.

The scope of R&D activities include analytical characterization, method development and validation, pre-formulation, formulation and manufacturing process development and optimization, as well as stability testing under ICH and cGMP guidelines. Product technology is developed keeping into perspective that this will be ready for scale up in cGMP manufacturing environment.

Collaborative development:

InnoPharma develops few selected solid oral dose products by working in collaboration with its development and manufacturing partners. The solid oral dosage forms under development at InnoPharma include sustained release tablets and capsules, utilizing technologies such as tablet-in-tablet, fluid bed granulation/palletization, and related sustained drug release technologies.

Network:

InnoPharma has well established relationships with high quality and cGMP compliant contract manufacturing organizations (CMO) worldwide, which provides the value proposition of turn-key product development by InnoPharma and commercial supply of finished drug product at very competitive transfer price.

InnoPharma also works with few selected, GCP compliant, and specialized clinical research organizations (CROs) to conduct clinical and/or bio-equivalency studies for its products.

Out-licensing:

Following internal development, InnoPharma out-licenses the products to pharmaceutical/bio-pharmaceutical marketing companies for commercialization.
